Zeta Alpha Chapter
LETTER FROM THE
PRESIDENT
Greetings!
On behalf of the Zeta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, I, President Madison Brown, am honored to welcome you to the official Zeta Alpha website. It is truly our pleasure that you have taken the time to learn more about our Zealous and Accomplished chapter.
On an “Oh So Pretty” Wednesday, January 15, 1908, sixteen visionary women founded Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on the campus of Howard University with a commitment to service to all mankind. For 118 years, more than 390,000 initiates have worked to uphold the values of service and sisterhood across multiple national territories. Our legacy is rooted in cultivating high scholastic and ethical standards, promoting unity and friendship among women, and maintaining a commitment to service to all mankind. Through lifelong service and the empowerment of women, our sorority continues to make a meaningful impact on future generations.
The Zeta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, was chartered on the campus of Arizona State University on November 28, 1970, by twelve illustrious women. Our charter members worked to promote equality on campus while establishing a space for women committed to serving their community. For 56 years, Zeta Alpha has continued to enrich the college experience through impactful programming and initiatives, including Pretty with a Purpose, the Black Professionals Leadership Dinner, and Foster the Future.
During my term, I hope to continue the legacy of Zeta Alpha and the organization as a whole. Thank you again for visiting our 2026–2027 website. I hope you learn more about our service and sisterhood, which are truly like no other.
If you have additional questions or would like to learn more about Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, we encourage you to visit our official international website, where you can explore our history, mission, programs, and continued commitment to service.
With sisterly love and care,
Madison Brown
